Mohan Dai Oswal Cancer Treatment & Research Foundation was established in 1984 as a charitable institution to extend comprehensive quality treatment for cancer to the masses at an affordable price. It is a 300 bedded hospital located on the Amritsar - New Delhi G.T. Road near Sherpur bye pass, Ludhiana. It is housed in a multi-storied building. The hospital is located in a 9 - acre plot & has adequate space for more expansion. Over the period the hospital has developed into a modern, well- equipped comprehensive cancer treatment center and multi-speciality hospital. Clinical services are adequately backed by investigative and diagnostic divisions.
The hospital up-gradation which was started two years back is almost over now. New 1.5 Tesla MRI has been installed and ours is the only centre to have PET SCAN facility in this part of India other than Chandigarh. New ultramodern modular operating room complex has been constructed. New OPD block, private room block and radio diagnosis block - all have state of art facilities. Even the general wards are having central oxygen supply, central suction facility and central air conditioning. Super specialities in the departments of onco-surgery, urology and nephrology are providing excellent service to the patients under one roof. New radiation therapy techniques have been employed at our centre with the installation of Elekta Synergy, which is a triple energy linear accelerator with IMRT, IGRT & VMAT. All this has become possible only under the sincere and dedicated efforts of Mr. Abhay Kumar Oswal Executive Vice-Chairman. We expect Mohan Dai Oswal Multispeciality and Cancer Hospital to be one of the top corporate hospitals, in the near future.
The hospital Registers nearly one-lakh patients in different OPD services every year and nearly over 8000 annual admission in different specialities yearly. On an average 3,000 to 3,500 new cancer patients are registered in the hospital besides regular follow up patients. This number increases by 10% every year. Daily OPD attendance ranges from 350 to 400 patients (Old and New). These patients include people from all walks of life not only from Punjab but adjacent northern states of India including J&K, HP, UP and Haryana.

The hospital has made special endeavors to have outreach programme in the rural as well as urban areas by opening up free urban dispensary at Inder Nagar, Ludhiana, and Charitable City Center at Purana Bazaar, Ludhiana. The Hospital is also having collaboration with different charitable hospitals and rural centers, where post graduates participate independently for the diagnosis and treatment of the patient. The post Graduates also take active part in the free medical checkup camps organized in the rural and urban areas from time to time and they also participate in the health awareness activities. It may be of interest to note that we provide the most economical best quality cancer treatment facilities in the region. Today the hospital is recognized as a centre of excellence and this encourages us to make better efforts to reach greater heights in all fields of patient care. We are thankful to the medical fraternity and people at large without whose faith and support it would never have been possible, for us to achieve and maintain our objective of “maximum benefits, to largest number at minimum cost”.
